Very Early Symptoms Of Pregnancy
There are misconceptions that missing a period or morning sickness etc could mean pregnancy. While some of them are sure short indicators of pregnancy some combined with others are the symptoms. Sometimes change in diet, stress, illness and lack of rest may cause symptoms of pregnancy.
Missed period
Pregnancy is the most common reason for sexually active women to miss her period. This is an important indicator of pregnancy. The other reason for missing period or delay in menstrual cycle is stress and inadequate sleep.
Fatigue
Fatigue alias tiredness is very common in the first three months of pregnancy. Most women feel tired in the morning even after a good night sleep. But not enough rest and imbalance in the diet can also cause tiredness and lethargy.
Nausea
Most women feel nauseated throughout the day or at least in the morning in the first three months of pregnancy. For some it goes on till the very end. One solution is to have crackers upon waking in the morning or have starches like potatoes.
Sore or tender breasts
Normally just before periods and during pregnancy the breasts will be tender, will be full, heavy and the nipples may hurt when touched. But after periods, it becomes normal. If it continues even after a normal menstrual cycle then it may be a case of ectopic pregnancy and the doctor should be consulted.
Urge to urinate very often
Pregnant women would want to urinate very frequently. There are two reasons to this. The first one is the uterus starts to grow as soon as the baby has implants itself into the endometrium lining. As the uterus grows it pushes itself against the bladder and makes it smaller. Second reason is HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) hormone starts to rise very fast and forces the bladder to empty .For the non-pregnant people, the cause frequent urination could be due to Urinary Tract Infection which could affects kidneys.
Headaches
Headaches are common in the first three months of pregnancy but the doctor should be consulted. Mostly it would go off with a nap but at times it could lead to toxemia and preeclampsia.
Heartburns
Heartburns are very common symptoms of pregnancy. The changes in the hormone and eating spicy food may cause. The hormonal changes can create intolerance to spices. But for the others, heartburns may be symptoms of ulcer too.
Spotting
Spotting is not a cause to worry in the initial days of pregnancy. Spotting may occur in the first 7 to 10 days after conception as the new blood vessels develop and at sexual intercourse any of these may be accidently knocked off. But if its menstrual period like flow then it may be a case of miscarriage
Pregnancy Test Kit or Strip
It is most easy and accurate method without consulting a doctor. Just buy a ‘Pregnancy Test Kit’ from chemist’s shop. This test is done with first urine in the morning. Complete method of using will be written on the kit. If the urine contains HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin), the strip will give positive results.
These are only a few symptoms but it’s a good idea to have a book on pregnancy to find answers for all the queries and refer to during the anxious moments when there is no where to turn to clarify them.
