How To Get Rid Of Under Eye Bags?
As the aging process starts eye bags and eye wrinkles start to appear under your eyes. The reason is that with age ligaments holding fat in the area under the eyes start to loosen and skin becomes less elastic and loose. Due to loss of elasticity, fluid comprising of fat and water accumulate puffing your eyes. It is not only the aging process that has a puffing effect but lifestyle also has a great contribution. Spending long sleepless nights, lack of exercise, excessive smoking, and stress increases the risk of fluid retention and consequent eye puffing. Weeping also results in fluid retention, wrinkles and dark circles.
Except for those caused due to age puffed eyes last for hours. If you are to attend an important event, may be a meeting or a date or a social function, and you have puffed eyes due to any reason it will be embarrassing. Before you go you need to cure it. The best cure is, have peaceful over night sleep, avoid alcohol and reduce salt intake. In case of urgency, as a quick fix for puffed eyes, you can try by placing chilled pieces of cucumber on your eyes and keeping the eyes closed for some time. In the alternative, place frozen tea bags on the eyes. This will provide temporary relief.
The long term medical cure is to go in for surgical process of firming up the skin under the eyes. However normally this is not recommended. For long term cure go in for eye massage with the help of your fingers starting from the nose side to the cheek side. Massage gently moving the fingers in an upward direction. This is to be repeated five times on each eye. This will help drain up accumulated liquid in the eye bags, tone up the muscles and prevent wrinkles.
An eye cream or gel containing eyeliss can help smoothing the eye contours and removing the bags. Placing a frozen plastic eye mask on a regular basis on the eyes will help. The chill will help tighten and tone up the skin and drain out water. Drinking a lot of cool water or other cool beverages will help. Hot and alcoholic drinks should be avoided.
Eyeliners tend to make the eyes more prominent so if you have swollen eyes due to filling up of fluid under them, avoid eyeliner. Instead of concealing the problem, it will serve to highlight it. Eye shadow of the same shade as your upper eyelid may be tried. Do not try exfoliation process as this may cause irritation.
