How To Get Rid Of Tangles In Long Hair ?

Avoidance is better than cure. To avoid this problem hair should be regularly conditioned after washing with shampoo, and a good quality conditioner should be used. A proper hair brush or comb should be used to comb the hair.  To start combing, start with wider tooth side and then shift to narrower tooth side of the comb. Remember to brush hair before washing and apply conditioner after washing. Follow instructions printed on packing. Using detangling comb or application of hot oil is also helpful. If despite taking adequate precautions hair has got tangled, then due precaution should be taken before starting of detangling. Excessive use of force to detangle the hair may result in breakage, split ends and damage to hair. This may take quite some time and cost to repair.

Start detangling when the hair is dry and not wet, as wet hair has a tendency to break faster. Also remember to start detangling with fingers and avoid use of comb or brush to start with. Long hair pin can assist detangling of excessively tangled areas. If need be, take the help of someone, may be your friend or relative who can help you out.

When you actually start this process, apply some oil or conditioner to the tangled hair. Then start with wide tooth comb to start combing operation. Best way is to start combing or otherwise removing tangles from the bottom of the hair and then move upwards. Select small areas to begin untangling. Avoid tug and pulls as this will result in irreparable damage and will split ends. If it is still difficult detangling spray available in the market may be tried. Those prone to this problem must keep this spray handy.
