How To Braid Hair Yourself Step By Step?
Being a beginner, when a woman just starts thinking of braiding the hair it appears to be a daunting task. One wonders how she will be able to tie the hair in a manner as she has been seeing on the head of her mother, grandmother or friends and relatives of parents. In reality it is not that difficult a task, you just need some understanding of the procedure and experience braiding a few times.
To begin with, it will be better if you try on the hair of someone else as you will be able to see directly and understand the procedure better. To start braiding you need a comb and rubber band. If the person on whom you are trying braiding uses gel, it will be easier if some gel is applied as it will become easy to handle the hair. If you cannot find a person on whom you can try, you may tie three thick threads on some peg and try to braid them.
- To start with it is necessary to comb the hair properly so that they are free from knots. Once done, divide the tangle free hair in three equal or almost equal parts, as shown in following picture.
- Hold the left portion of the hair in your left hand and right portion of the hair in the right hand, leaving the middle section as it is.
- While holding the two parts firmly with the help of some fingers get hold of the middle section and pull it to place it under the right hand side portion of the hair. This way the right portion will become middle portion.
- Repeating same way use the left hand to pull the now middle section of the hair under the left section and slightly pull to make the braid tight.
- Now the left portion will become middle portion. Again with the help of right hair repeat the process done first.
- Continue the process till you reach the desired length. When done tie a rubber band. Initially the braid will be uneven but slowly with practice you will be able to tie a neat braid.
Once you achieve perfection on someone else’s hair start trial on your own hair. For this you will have to raise your hands to the shoulder level and hold the left and right portion of hair with thumbs pointing in the down ward direction. Repeat the same movements of both the hands and the portion of hair, as done earlier with the hair of a third person. Slowly you will be able to braid your hair neatly.
