Homemade Night Cream Recipe
During the day when a person moves around doing his work, he or she is exposed to various pollutants including dust, fumes and above all ultraviolet rays present in sun light. These cause much damage to the skin of the exposed parts. Face, neck and hands are the parts of the body which are exposed the most to the pollutants and the skin of these parts gets affected the most. Due to this reason it is essential to apply some cream or other supplement to refurnish the skin for the nutrients lost due to exposure and repair the damage caused to it.
Though the idea of applying the day creams and night creams is same i.e. lubrication of the skin but both serve a different purpose. Day creams mostly contain sunscreen needed to protect the skin from ultraviolet rays present both in direct light and diffused light. The night cream should contain substances which have the capacity to repair the skin during your sleep. Based on this theory night creams generally have yeast extracts, exfoliations and antioxidants like vitamin A or C. In addition some skin soothing herbal or natural agents are also added. These include aloe vera, or turmeric extracts etc.
Night creams may not be necessary for people with oily skin. Oil glands supply sufficient quantity of oil to the skin to keep it moist and protect it from any external polluting agent. However people with normal skin or dry skin do require night creams containing thick moisturisers like petroleum jelly or coconut oil etc. The object is to provide a thick coating on the skin to prevent evaporation of moisture and consequent dryness. The women who are susceptible to acne need to be careful.
The creams available in the market are normally chemical based creams with only a small proportion of some herbal products added to them. This is done to promote marketing. However with little effort one can make night cream at home. This way you will be able to save a lot of money and will be sure that whatever has been added is pure.
