Causes And Treatment Of Female Infertility
Generally, female infertility can be understood to be a condition in which she is unable to conceive and for this reason cannot give birth to a child. Mostly, such women have very small chances of getting pregnant (25-30%) and even if they conceive, their conception does not go beyond the third week. This condition can be a result of various kinds of factors.
Causes and Symptoms of Female Infertility: There are various reasons. A woman may be physically incapable of conceiving by nature, may have some kind of functional abnormalities or there may be some problem with the hormones. The ovulation may not occur properly or might not occur at all. The fallopian tubes may be damaged, partially or fully blocked. All these conditions may also be the result of some disease or even a serious accident.
All the more, infertility can also result because of psychological reasons. Stress, extreme fear, depression, anxiety also make a woman incapable of conception. But such causes are not permanent and can be removed by suitable psychological and physical treatment.
Inflammation of the uterus also can lead to complications that result in infertility. This happens mostly because of bacterial infection that is spread via the sexual route. If a woman has TB of the uterus, she is also prone to this inflammation causing bacteria. Similarly, a woman who has undergone many abortions and those too in unhealthy conditions is under the risk of infertility.
A woman may suffer from Endometriosis, in which the cells that form a lining around the uterus start growing abnormally and hamper the release of egg. Even if the egg is released it’s mostly blocked in the fallopian tubes. In either case conception is not possible. Tumors in the uterus are also known to harm the uterus lining and also can result in the displacement of the cervix.
Sometimes, by a quirk of nature the capacity of a woman to produce eggs comes to a standstill at a very early age. This is known as early-menopause. Such a woman can’t conceive at all. Excessive use of alcohol and drugs also may lead to infertility.
As far as Treatment Of Infertility is concerned, in many of the cases it can be cured by following a healthy life-style. Couples need to reduce their stress levels and plan their sexual activity. A very simple technique can be that a woman lies on the bed with her legs up after the partner has ejaculated his semen in her. This helps because sometimes, the sperms are not that powerful and need some extra time to bring about fertility.
In case of other diseases like Endometriosis, surgery, medicines or a combination of both can bring about the solution. Fallopian tubes are mostly opened up by means of surgery. If the problem of inadequate ovulation is there, medicines such as clomiphene are quite effective. Then, there are the techniques like in-vitro fertilization in which fertilization is done outside the body and the zygote is inserted into the woman’s body.
