Benefits Of Milk For Skin Care At Home
Taking milk bath has been considered as the easiest and most popular way to lighten and brighten your skin. Milk is rich in different acids, one of them being lactic acid this helps to exfoliate your skin. Old and dead skin cells are removed and they make way for younger, clearer, newer and more vibrant skin cells. This way you come out of the bath tub with a softer and fairer skin.
In addition to different acids, milk is a rich source of proteins, vitamins and minerals. These are especially beneficial for skin of those people who have sunburns or are suffering from eczema or dry itching skin. Proteins and minerals in milk make the skin soft and reduce irritation and itching caused due to dryness.
A number of milk and milk product based home remedies have been used from time immemorial. Some of them are described here under:
- For nourishment of the skin of whole body you need about two cups of milk. Pour it in the bath tub containing slightly warm water. Soak your body in this water for about twenty minutes and see the miracle. If you dislike the greasy feel you can use fat free milk.
- Instead of only milk, you can make a bath of combination of the following: a cup of milk along with ½ cup of baking soda, ½ cup of Epsom, ½ cup of warm honey, and a few drops of lavender or some other essential oil. Soak for about twenty minutes and rinse your body with clean water.
- A very cooling, refreshing, nourishing and beneficial face mask can be made using cucumber and milk. Cucumber contains natural Vitamins A & C, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus associated with it vitamin rich milk becomes an excellent anti aging face mask. To make the face mask mix juice of one cucumber, one egg white and milk powder. Make a pack of these products and apply on face and neck. Let it be there for about twenty minutes, wash and notice the difference yourself. Use once a week.
- Another face mask of milk powder and honey is greatly beneficial to fight aging skin, wrinkles and frown lines. Make a paste of milk powder and honey. Apply it evenly on your face and neck. Allow it to remain for thirty minutes. Rinse using clean water. You will yourself notice the difference. This is a good remedy to moisturise the skin and reduce wrinkles.
- Papaya is an excellent skin care product. You can make a mask of papaya pulp and milk powder, to it add a small quantity of honey and apply on the face. This will help clean up blemishes and reduce pimples.
- Similarly a pack of milk powder, honey and lemon juice is a very good exfoliant and moisturiser. A number of other natural products that can be added to milk to make a beauty mask includes strawberries and paste of almonds.
